The quest through the forest continues on for what could seem like hours, but who really knows how long they were there?

Who knows if time passes differently in this strange dimension?

Who knows if this is just a dream, all in these kids’ heads?

Me.

I’m here to tell you this story.

And though it started a few days ago, the real story began on this day. This day will change the future for these kids forever.

November 12 1993.

The watch on Matty’s left arm was turning faster by the minute. Literally.

“Indi, you sure about this? I mean I saw the portal out, we can leave right now-”

Cloe was cut off by a snap-y Indigo, “we’re not leaving until we find Max, at least I’m not.”

Cloe sighs and continues stepping through the muddy, torn up ground. Non of them wanted to be breathing the air though, it looked like there had been a fire. It was snowing ash.

The ground seemed as though a giant creature had taken its hand and clawed through it for a mile.

Indi stops and looks around. ‘This looks familiar..‘ She thought.

She squints her eyes and her eyebrows relax. She knows where she is.

It’s the deadest version of Cheks, ever. The most destroyed, as if something evil had come through and taken over.

She continues walking, but her pace quickens. She stops around a large pine tree. Its bigger than others. It has a bigger base, and its quite tall. She walks around the other side of it, and sees a sign: Indi’s Shack.

She smiles and goes inside a hole in the trunk. She had made sticks out of furniture, but most of it was broken.

They had used this ‘shack’ as a group meeting spot, so everyone knows what it is.

“Holy crap.”

“How is this here?!”

Indi pauses as everyone comes inside.

“What if… th-this place.. is like a different version of Cheks? Because look,” She rises up and stands beside the entrance. She points straight out. “That’s my house.”

There’s a suburban, two story tan house sitting a bit in the distance through the woods.

“I wouldn’t be shocked if this was Cheks… or some sort of Cheks…” Jacksen starts. “But, then why is no one here?”

Indi shrugs.

She opens here mouth to speak, but something cuts her off.

It’s not Cloe, it’s not Jacksen, and it’s sure not Matty.

It is the most furious, blood-thirsty growl any one of them has ever heard.

Hide.”
