Skin care is such an important part of personal hygiene. While you might still get those annoying pimples and acne, it’s important to take good care of your skin. Putting on TONS of makeup everyday isn’t for me, more might just be for special occasions. And like everything else to do with your body, it’s not a one-size-fits-all thing. Your skin is different from everyone else’s. But sometimes things can be the same. Here are 7 skincare tips. Since everyone’s skin is different, these may not work perfectly, but here’s what worked for me.

  1. Washing My Face
For me, washing my face is important, while I try not to use lots (or any) chemicals. While I itch and scratch my nose or cheeks often, I try to make sure I keep my hands clean. I carry one of those trendy little cross-body bags and put some hand sanitizer in there. You can get hand sanitizer pretty cheap at stores like Kroger or I personally recommend Bath and Body Works.
  2. I Do Facial Masks
I don’t do them all the time, but maybe once a week. Like I said before, it’s going to be different because your skin is different. It might be once a week, it might be once a month, or completely different. I really like the Formula 10.0.6 SeaSide Glow mask. And highly recommend it for people who like a beachy scent 😉
  3. I Don’t Wash With Hand Soap
Rinsing with water or splashing some cold water on your face is nice and refreshing and keeps your face moisturized, but hand soap doesn’t work for ME. It could work for you though!!
  4. I Use Good Moisturizers (sometimes)
Using a good moisturizer might help some people (again depending on your skin) but I actually had to STOP using moisturizer because it was clogging my pores and I got bad acne on both sides of my mouth. I will also say that I was using moisturizer after taking my makeup off and I’m not sure all my makeup was off, causing it to clog more. And I’m not sure for you, but scraping my pimples off only makes them worse. Not sure if that’s for everyone but…. I recommend the Formula 10.0.6 Thirst No More moisturizer, you can purchase the product where I got it which was Ulta Beauty.
Before I got my that I used my Mom’s (@twosisters_angie, go give her a follow via Insta) Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil and that helped a lot too.
  5. Pimples and How I Prevent Them
There are lots of ways to prevent acne and pimple, but it really all depends on you! Like I’ve said before, everything is different for you, because you’re different. I say it all the time because it’s true. Some ways I prevent my pimples or get them to go away are icing the spot where they are, using hydrogen peroxide, and the Neutrogena Acne Prevent Cream. I got a pimple on my arm right before my cousin’s wedding, and I popped it. Then I never saw it again, so maybe that works (for me at least).
  6. Showering
Showering daily is a great thing to do (for me), and my skin thanks me later. Every time I would play tennis I’d always come home and shower. I shower every other day since I don’t do much to get dirty or sweaty. It honestly just makes me feel so fresh and nice. I wish I did it everyday but I usually forget because I’m watching Netflix or something ;D
  7. Do I Shave?
Nope. Not with a razor. Not with shaving cream. I shave with the Neir Leg Mask, and rarely do it. I’ve only done it a few times. I started doing it when I was 10 because I was getting really self-conscious over the summer. Even though my mom told me it wasn’t that bad, I wouldn’t give it up. I begged for months to shave. I did research and finally came across the leg masks. She said we can try it. But also that I can’t do it all the time, or else it’ll only grow back darker and faster. But when you start shaving and how often you do it is up to you (and if you’re still young your parents too).

Thank you for reading, I hope this helps you in a few ways! Of course I don’t expect it to work perfectly because you’re different in such a beautiful way!!
That’s what makes you beautiful!! 😉 <3
Love,
Syd :)x
