Getting a puppy is an amazing way to add a new member to the family, but it comes with lots of responsibilities.

As some of you may know, we got a new pup in January, Ginger. And of course, we have Moxie, that means TWO wild dogs in ONE house 😂 and we sure know what kind of responsibilities come with dogs.

1: SUPPLIES.

If you’re getting a puppy or already have one, you should know that you’re going to need lots of supplies. Not just beds and bowls and collars and potty pads, you’ll also need carpet stain remover, food, toys, etc.

It’s important that you have all these things because the dogs will, with out a doubt, need them. They’re a lot of work and need lots and lots of things, toys for teething and entertainment, beds for naps and sleeping, bowls for…duh… food and water, potty pads for potty training.

2: ATTENTION.

These pups need so much attention, but also not TOO much. Look, I know, these dogs are so particular 🤣 But seriously, not too little and not too much. Not too little because they need this attention and care and love to grow up and a safe-feeling environment, and might feel ignored and become scared or even aggressive. Not too much because they could become spoiled and have attachment issues which comes with extra training.

3: TRAINING.

Puppies need this training, they don’t come with a prebuilt brain, so they don’t know what they can and can’t do.

Whether you train them yourself or take them to a puppy class, it’s so, so, so, so, soooooo important that these puppies get the right training and preferably from an early age.

They can’t be jumping on the counter taking food or pee on the floors their whole life. They. Need. Training. It’s simply essential.

Those are a few tips and things that I think are needed when getting a pup.

I hope you love the heck out of your dogs and that they love the heck out of you! 🙂

We love our dogs so much and our family wouldn’t be complete without them.
