Lilo, Indi’s mom, wasn’t making her go to school at all that week and Indigo had told her friends not to expect her for a while.

The first three months last year after the disappearance, Indigo didn’t go anywhere. No grocery store, no malls, no school, nothing.

It was sad for anyone to watch, especially when all her friends were constantly trying to cheer her up.

She, unlike most of the others, didn’t believe Max to be dead. She was smart, so she figured he was just….hiding…or something, and that the stupid “global search party” didn’t try very hard.

‘But, if she knew he’s fine, why’s she so sad?’ you ask? Well, because all she’s done for the past year is try and contact him, to find proof that her best friend is okay, and to prove she’s not a sick weirdo who believes dead people are alive and that alive people are dead.

Anyway….

Everyone at Indigo’s house left for the zoo. Who does that on the day of someones disappearance???? Wouldn’t you be scared you’d get… SnAtChEd?

Indi was laying on her bed thinking about when her and Max first met.

Just then she heard a faint whispering coming from right outside her window, or of course just very close to it. She lived on a large ranch house and the only upstairs was a little loft, AKA Indigo’s Room (so says the sign on the door).

She opened her window and peeked around. Nothing. Just that whispering, and… crying?

It soon became audible, and she knew the voice by heart.

‘Max,’ She thought.

He was calling for help, for his mom.

“Max! Are you okay?! Where are you??” She screams out the very much open window. There was a pause, his thinking pause.

“Oh! Indigo! No, not okay, not at all! I’m in some weird version of Cheks but it’s always night and dusty and its like snowing but the snow is back and-” Max was cut off by a deep, vicious growl.

“Max, run,” Indigo said with wide eyes.

“Already thinking that,” was the last thing she heard when all hearable things cut off except the birds outside her window.

Indigo sat down on her bed again. What kind of world is he in?’ She thought.

She figured it out, the world, the growl, everything.

It was a different dimension that people get sucked into when their thoughts become very dark. That growl was of a creature that lives on those thoughts, then it grabs that person and takes them to its home.

Indigo figured out Flipped.

Back at Indigo’s house, her mom was pretty understanding of her daughter’s current upset state.
